Since joining Keswick School in 2013, Jody Berkey has served as a teacher, Director of Academic Services, Assistant Head of School, and now Head of School.
With more than 25 years of experience spanning non-profit medical and behavioral health organizations (Kennedy Krieger Institute and Clinic in Baltimore), inpatient and outpatient therapeutic classrooms (Western Psychiatric Institute in Pittsburgh), teaching and administration in public education (Prince William County School in Northern VA), and now an independent therapeutic boarding school, she brings a deep commitment to student growth, servant leadership, and the mission of Keswick School.
As Head of School, Jody provides strategic leadership for every aspect of the school's academic, residential, therapeutic, and support programs. She works closely with staff, families, and the Board of Trustees to ensure Keswick remains a place where boys experience meaningful growth academically, socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and personally. Her leadership focuses on strengthening the school's mission, cultivating a healthy organizational culture, supporting exceptional staff, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the institution.
Jody earned her Master's degree in School Administration and Policy Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and her Bachelor's degree in Special and Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University. She began her career in special education, teaching and leading programs that supported students with learning, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Those experiences continue to shape her belief that every child deserves individualized support, high expectations, and opportunities to develop resilience, confidence, and character.
“I believe every boy has the capacity to grow, learn, and discover his unique strengths when given the right environment of care, challenge, and support. At Keswick School, it is our privilege to partner with families in helping each student build the confidence, character, and resilience needed to lead a meaningful life.”
