Laura has allowed intellectual exploration to guide her time at UVA. This has enabled her to hone in on what her core curiosities are as an academic, one of which is the importance of relationships in people's lives, including its possible correlation to self-esteem and success. As a fourth-year, interning at Keswick School is an excellent opportunity for Laura to explore this core curiosity as employed in a professional setting.
"Coming from a warm, close-knit working environment on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, I am excited to join an additional one right outside of my college town! Furthermore, this experience will allow me to continue to explore ideas and interests I have developed in the classroom by seeing how they can be implemented in a non-theoretical setting to elicit a positive outcome in the lives of others. I hope that this experience will help me to narrow down what it is I would like to do with my future and figure out what type of continuing education I should pursue."
