“I was drawn to this field because I really enjoy working with children and enjoy the satisfaction of being a part of the growth process. I have stayed in this field because it requires us to constantly be examining ourselves in order to be of service to others. The students have taught me way more than I have taught them.”
Gene loves to be outdoors. He is married with three children and they spend much of their time together traveling in an RV, hiking, biking, and kayaking. Gene is also an enthusiastic sports fan. He cheers for the Washington Capitals, Washington Football Team, and all the University of Virginia teams.
